Commitment

"Talent is cheaper than table salt. What separates the talented individual from the successful one is a lot of hard work." - Stephen King, American novelist

Many people believe that talent is the only thing you need to have, to be successful in life. Many tend to measure a person's ability by the marks he/she scored in academics. But, do all the top scorers, though talented, really succeed in life? Where will they be after 10 years from now? The answer for the above questions is most likely to be not outstanding.

This is just because talent alone cannot assure success. Many of these top scorers think that they are talented and can easily get any job that they wish - but the fact is talent can make you eligible for a job, but not successful in life.

It's not talent, you need to have commitment to succeed in life
Though talent gets you further, it is commitment that leads to success. Commitment towards your learning or towards your work, will help you grow in your career, while talent at the most, can help you in acquiring a job.

If you flip through history, you will find people who were successful, had commitment to their goals, than just their talent.
Hence, it is commitment, not just talent, that will lead you to success and to achieve your goals in life.

"Desire is the key to motivation, but it's determination and commitment to an unrelenting pursuit of your goal - a commitment to excellence - that will enable you to attain the success you seek." - Mario Andretti

Remember: Talent gets you further, it is commitment that leads to success.

Have a successful week!

Don't Play Safe!

When you look at your life, do you find yourself taking chances or playing life safe? Do you take calculated risks or do you take the path that appears the easiest? Neither one is good or bad, however, I would submit to you that playing life safe results in a more mundane and less fun life.

When we look at life, what is there to see? Each of us has the opportunity each morning when we roll out of bed to choose what we would like to do for that day. Most of us choose to go to work as we have obligations to meet and we like to be able to eat on a daily basis and keep a roof over our heads. That however, is not a requirement, it is a choice.

Each day we have the wonderful opportunity ahead of us to create a masterpiece. After all, we are all masterpieces created for a Purpose.

What are you doing each day with your opportunity? When you roll out of bed, you start taking risks. It may not seem that way to you, only because you have performed so many of these same tasks so many times that risk of failure is minute. We risk hitting our toes, or falling down or burning ourselves with a hot drink in the morning. We risk getting involved in an accident on the way to work in the morning. Heaven only knows what risks are being taken at work. And the list goes on.

Everything you do in a day has an element of risk. The question I have for you is what kind of risks are you taking? Are you taking risks that will move you forward in life towards your Purpose and your deepest desires in your heart? Or, are you taking small risks that don't seem like risks to you that keep you in your current place?

Are you content with where you are in your life? If you are, great, and be encouraged to continue on your way. If, however, you are not content, totally unhappy, and want to make more out of your life, you want to achieve Your Purpose in life, then be encouraged to take a different path in life. Choose to take calculated risks.

These are risks that you have looked at, weighed the benefits and disadvantages and know what the outcome could bring if you win and are willing to live with the results if you loose.

If you are willing to step out into life, stop playing safe and really choose to life a live of significance and Purpose, then let's do this. Let us choose to engage life.

What do you choose to do in your life?

Roses And Thorns

There's no crazy without brilliant; no wisdom without ignorance; no love without hate; and no courage without fear.

Yet we hope to be one without the other - a rose without a thorn. We forget our 'agreement' - to fully experience the light and the dark; to BE human.

We can't own our gifts without also owning our pitiful selves and our stupidity; without realizing that our mistakes are what we came here for. They're our greatest moments of awakening.

There's no north without south; no found without lost; no laughter without tears; and no sunrise without sunset.

We come here to feel and express it all; to move through the crazy and find the wisdom; to move through hell and find heaven. Only then can we clearly choose light over dark; love over hate; and wisdom over fear. This is our mission here in the dense realm.

Pretending to be perfect - all good, brilliant, and enlightened is our greatest human flaw. Perfection is our impossible dream here on Planet Earth. How we waste time longing for it, and seeking it in others.

When our beloveds' weaknesses are fully revealed, we stone them, hate them - just as we hate ourselves, for not being perfect, for being ONLY human. We're missing the point of being human; and hurting others with our ignorance.

How eager we are to see another's flaws - to forget that we hold the same flaws in our hands, are made from the same fabric, have spoken the same words, and made the same mistakes. To realize our divine nature is to know that we are all made of this same imperfect fabric.

Create your beautiful life. Sew perfection into every moment. But embrace the defects hidden in your cloth; know that under the surface, your beautiful life is woven with the same anxieties, fears, hatreds, and mistakes as your greatest enemy. Then you'll realize why there's nothing ever to forgive.

You'll offer a hand to the one who hurt you most; you'll help them see their gifts. You'll help them be who they came here to be. Doing this will save you.

The moment you see that your greatest shame, your greatest pain, is also your greatest gift - you'll understand why you're here and who you are.

Love your pain and fear - embrace your darkness. It will lead you to your gifts, your courage and your divinity; it will open your heart. Love the entire story of your imperfect life, especially the mistakes and ugly self-doubt.

Release your need for perfection in anyone or anything; love the rose along with its thorns. These are the same thorns that live in your heart -alongside the gift of your boundless love.

Become the person who loves the thorn and the gift in everyone - including yourself. Know that one can't exist without the other. Doing this will heal you.

And it will save the life of everyone you meet.

The Winning Disposition

What is it about some people that has them always standing in the winning circle? Is it really that they are so much more talented than others or is it something else? Certainly talent is a contributing factor but maybe equally important is their mind set and their outlook. They simply see themselves as winners. When we look at superstars we notice a confidence that is every bit as intimidating as their great physical abilities. They display a focus so intense that it seems it cannot be diminished.

They are determined to win and that is exactly what they typically do.

Unfortunately, for every one of those with the winning mentality, there appear to be thousands who see themselves in just the opposite way. They feel perhaps that they are less talented, less prepared and sometimes less deserving. It is hard to deny that an attitude such as that can have a profound effect on results. Many times it is just that spark of confidence that pushes one to be far better than he would otherwise be.

So, how does one develop or incorporate that attitude and is it even possible for that to happen? Certainly optimism is essential. One has to keep telling themselves over and over that they are capable to doing significant things and eventually over time they can come to actually believe that is true. People are capable of amazing things, far more than they realize. All too often, we are our own worst enemies as we continually sabotage ourselves with our negative attitudes and feelings of inadequacy.

While it is true that everyone has bad days and times when they are not feeling at their very best it is also true that those times can be very temporary. Positive thinking can help to get us back on the track so much faster than being trapped in feelings of our inability to succeed. Sometimes the secret is to just keep trying. Not being afraid to fail and then when we do come up short being willing to try again and again until success is achieved is the winning recipe. It is a proven truth that doing things over and over improves our abilities to do them. Not giving up is crucial, as is keeping our attitude positive. Develop an winning attittude today.

Time

What is the most useful thing that you can use your time for?The clock is ticking, each moment of your time is precious. Every second of your time is valuable. If you had to record each moment of your day, how would you judge each moment. It could be said that you are the judge of your life, how would you evaluate the day which just ended. Was it a valuable day? If you looked back on your life, what would you say was your biggest achievement during the day. Did you feel that you achieved the things you set out to achieve at the beginning of the day?

What would you celebrate? What were the things that you were extremely happy and joyous about? What were the most tangible things that you achieved?
Do you feel proud of the things that you achieved during the day? What do you think that you could have done better. Were there things that you might have changed if you had a second chance to run the day again. The biggest judge is yourself

Who is responsible for your life?It has been said that people who tend to fail to achieve things in life do not take responsibility for everything in their life. May be it is the case that they look to blame systems, situations and other people for the things that are wrong in their life. But shouldn't everyone take responsibility for their own life, and actions. People who take responsibility for everything in their life, have power over their lives

Great Things Take Time

Certainly you've been there before. No matter how hard you try all your efforts seem to be in vain. Don't despair, for some of life's greatest victories have come to those who have persisted despite external conditions. Success is achieved through a series of setbacks, dead ends and smaller victories.

The journey toward your goals is clothed in the person you become, more than the goal that you set out to achieve. Successful leaders will advise you that it was the journey not the fulfilment of the goal which is most satisfying. You might recall Thomas Edison overcame repeated setbacks and failures to discover the light bulb. It took him no less than 1,000 attempts to invent what is regarded as history's greatest inventions.

Success Is Closer Than You Think

Now you might say "I don't have the energy and resources to persist through 1,000 failures" to realise success. But what if his invention required 1,000 attempts before success was imminent? You see, sometimes the process dictates the path to success. If your goal is manageable in scale, your failure may not be as prominent as Thomas Edison's.

On the other hand if your goal is to impact humanity on a global scale, the process of pursuing the goal will almost certainly meet with unexpected detours and setbacks. The scale of the goal will determine the course one takes and subsequently the actions required in order to fulfil that goal.

Consider this, what if your endeavour required time and patience and you knew this in advance; would you still persist? Oftentimes we are discouraged from pursuing our goal due to many unknown factors. Inevitably we give up due to the fear of the unknown, rather than embrace it as a challenge. It is the fear of the road ahead which debilitates us the most, since uncertainty indicates that success may be unattainable.

A wise man's advice for overcoming the fear of failure is embraced by the willingness to let go of mastering time and enjoy the process instead. If you love what you do and do what you love, then it stands to reason that the process become your focus. You have no doubt heard the adage 'think with the end in mind.' By orientating yourself to the fulfillment of the goal affords you the opportunity to engineer the steps required in reverse.

Any well-known author and motivational expert will propose that when we think about our goal with the end in mind, it allows us to create a pathway toward the achievement of that victory. Many people give up on their goal for a variety of reasons. You must develop an indestructible passion and conviction toward the realisation of your goal. Failure is not to be contemplated.

Ponder this for a moment. Which is greater, the joy of success or the misery of defeat? Are you motivated to succeed or are you motivated to avoid pain?

In order to realise your goal, an attitude of consistent persistence must be accompanied by an undeniable belief to succeed. Consistent dedication is paramount, given your daily habits lead toward success or failure. Consistency matched with passion, enthusiasm and desire ultimately lead toward the path of success.

Before you consider giving up, rest or take a mini break if you must. Sometimes we need a break from the pursuit of our goal in order to gain clarity and perspective. Albert Einstein said, "You can't solve a problem with the same level of thinking that created it in the first instance." Therefore viewing your goal with a new mind allows you to see possible opportunities that may not have been apparent previously.

One can never predict how long it takes to achieve success. If you pursue your goal with an undeniable belief and conviction than success will ultimately greet you when the time is right, then the process becomes far more enjoyable than the victory.

Keep Loving It

If you want to live a truly magnificent life, then you must uncover the secret to living a meaningful and fulfilling life first. This all starts with you waking up every day and doing what you love and loving what you do. The greatest challenge you will face comes; when you may have allowed your life to gradually unfold, in a direction you do not like. This may mean that you now find yourself in a place, where you don't "LOVE", what you do? If you find yourself in this position, you have one of two choices.

You can either choose to allow yourself to remain trapped in a place you do not like and continue to live a life with no meaning. Or you can make a far wiser choice and change your focus. Instead of loving what you are doing at that time. Rather focus your energy on "LOVING" the opportunity, which you have available to you right now, to create the life you love.

Learn to stop focusing on lack and everything you don't have in your life right now, where you wake up every day, wondering how you are going to get through your day. Train your mind to focus on possibility and all the incredible wonder the future holds for you. Focus on all the incredible opportunity available to you right now, which will allow you to move your life in the direction of meaning and fulfilment, you want. See the incredible opportunity you have to build a future, which has all the elements you desire, namely great health, fantastic relationships, awesome career.

Allow yourself to "LOVE the OPPORTUNITY" and everything in your life immediately changes. You no longer wake up every day wondering how you are going to get through your day. Instead, you wake up inspired and passionate about possibility, eagerly looking for ways to get as much as possible from each day.
No matter what you are doing, it is OK

As you travel down the path towards new levels of success and achievement,of course you will be thrust out of your comfort zone, of course you will need to introduce new disciplines into your life, which will not be comfortable, and of course you will not love everything you need to do daily. In fact you don't have to love any of it. All you need to do is to appreciate all you have and "LOVE" the opportunity your labours will bring to you. Learn the art of loving what you have and loving the prize, which you will get to enjoy once you have paid the small price of discipline today and life, becomes an enjoyable journey, packed with wondrous possibility and opportunity.

Now is the time to Embrace Opportunity
If you can make the decision, where you no longer look for what is missing in your life right now and instead focus on what you have, namely incredible opportunity. You will find that you immediately feel so much better about your life, your self-confidence grows and you awaken your ability to believe in possibility. Have no doubt that your life is filled with opportunity and possibility. Learn to focus on what you have right now, namely the opportunity to live a life of meaning and fulfilment and forget about what is missing and you will have discovered the key to unlimited joy, happiness and success.

Focus on the Long Term
Believe that success, achievement, meaning and fulfilment are your birth right. Do not allow yourself to ever be discouraged or tempted to give up. Be assured that all it takes to live the life you desire is long term commitment, belief, vision, discipline, a great positive attitude, daily inspired action and the patience and persistence, to move from one stepping stone to the next. Of course you won't "LOVE" every stepping stone along the way. Realise that once you learn the art of "LOVING" each stepping stone for the opportunity it brings, you will have uncovered the secret to enjoy your journey through life and pathway to live the success you desire.

Let It Go

Are you depressed and disappointed in your life? If you are seeking happiness and you want to live a peaceful life that is devoid of worries and stress, the first step is to let go off the troubles.

If you tend to stay stressed about trivial matters, you will be robbed of happiness. Have you ever wondered as to what happens when you get stressed? Can stress solve the problems that you are facing? Will it make the situation better for you? Definitely not. All stress does is add to your anxiety and troubles and it will make your life devoid of happiness.

So, you need to understand that being stressed about a situation is not going to take you anywhere and it will only mess your life. Once you get a grip on your stress levels, you will find a radical improvement in the way you live your life.

Let Go Off Painful Memories

Do you believe in the saying that life is a bed of roses? Well, even if you have such a rosy picture painted in your mind, you need to be aware that roses have thorns. So, the journey of life is not going to be sugar-coated all the way through. There will be troubles and there are going to be memories that will trap you rather than make you happy.

If you want to live a happy life, you need to learn to let go off the painful memories. Being a captive to the tormenting memories of the past will eat into the happiness of your soul and it is not going to help you steer ahead.

Set Your Soul Free

You need to free your soul from the troubles that weighs it down. Our soul is meant to stay free. However, the journey of life can be weary and the troubles that life throws on you can chain your soul and weigh it down. How often do you find yourself thinking over the "what- ifs" of life? Merely thinking about what would have happened and regretting the decisions that you took in the past is only going to make your situation worse.

Life is about living in the present and if you keep worrying about your yesterday or stressing about your tomorrow, you will end up spoiling the present. So, learn to set your soul free so that it can seek the true form of happiness. A happy soul will help you lead a happy life.

Life Is Beautiful- Live It

Life is not a rat race where you need to come out on top. It is meant to be a journey that you should cherish and enjoy. No one remembers the races you won at the end of the cycle. What people remember is the memories they shared with you. So, the biggest accomplishment of life is to die as a happy man.

Happiness should be your prime goal and in order to attain it, you need to live your life to the fullest. Do not end this journey thinking of those things that you do not have.

Happiness Is A State Of Mind

Do you often complain that you can't stay happy for long? You need to know that happiness is merely a state of mind. If you want to be happy, you need to believe that you are happy and make light of all the troubles.

Remember, nothing is permanent. Even the darkest nights end and pave the path for a brilliant day. So, even if you are stuck in horrid lanes of troubles, let the pain go away because nothing stays forever. What is born has to end and pain, though intense will vanish and die.

When you let go of all these troubles, angst, anxiety, stress and other vices that weigh you down, you will feel a different kind of relief in your body and mind. This is the key to attaining true mastery over happiness. Happiness doesn't mean that you need to live a secluded life. Happiness can be derived from little things because it is merely a state of mind.

You need to have the urge to live a happy life and you have to believe in the unending possibility of happiness.

Implement these tried and tested formula and map the biggest ever transformation in your life. The strength that will ooze from within is unimaginable too. So, cherish the journey of your life and embrace happiness in forms that are both seen, unseen.

Setback To Success

From the time we are babies, we have setbacks: leading to crying and tantrums. Setbacks, disappointments, and obstacles are unavoidable as we progress through life. It is how we handle our setbacks that will determine the results we create. Will they stop us from being successful or are there ways to turn them around to our benefit?

When we move out into the world and begin taking risks , we may come face to face with obstacles. Do we plunge ahead despite our perceived limitations or do we take the easy road and stop? What if we want and choose to continue only to find our self up against a big roadblock that we're not sure we can overcome? What we do next can influence the whole course of our life to come.

Setbacks are opportunities to reassess our position. They can be viewed as "tests" to see how committed we are to the end game we've planned for. Perhaps we do need to stop and see if the path we've chosen is truly the best one for us and it is okay to admit that it may no longer be viable. An honest assessment and decision to stop is not necessarily quitting.

On the other hand, a setback can signal that we've reached a peak in our own growth and that to move forward, we need a new approach. This attitude provides us with a great opportunity. What can I learn or do differently to be successful? You can turn setbacks into success: it comes down to how you choose to view the situation and what actions you take (or don't take) next. Since success in life is about interpretation, we should learn to interprete the situation well before acting or refusing to do so.

Cheers to the weekend!.

The Right Attitude

Anyone who wishes to be successful at anything must have the right attitude. Developing an attitude for success is essential to finding the light at the end of the tunnel and to accomplish the goals which one sets for himself.

Being a pessimist and having a fatalistic outlook on life will not work. Believing in oneself and working toward meaningful and realistic goals can bring success. An attitude of hope and faith mixed with hard work should provide worthwhile results which will lead to success.

Everyone makes mistakes. No one is perfect. Life is full of errors. Dwelling on the failures of the past will not help in the quest for success. Beating oneself up over things which are gone and over does no good. Don't ever tell yourself that you are stupid because you did a stupid thing. Tell yourself instead that you may have done a foolish thing, but that does not make you a stupid person. Mistakes can be corrected, and people can learn from failures if the right attitude is present.

The right attitude is necessary to achieve any of our goals. Being honest with oneself and having the integrity to face the facts of life squarely will be beneficial in achieving success. Skimping and cheating to attain goals or money will in no way help to be successful.

Being a positive person with hope for the future helps people find success. The power of positive thinking has long been touted as a real factor and as a valuable tool in life. Faith in yourself and your ability to succeed will help you get there.

It has been said that the most successful people in the world set goals. They write down those goals and look at them everyday. They find pictures of the material possessions they want to have as a result of those goals. They visualize themselves having those things. They consider themselves to be winners already in possession of the items they desire. They know what they want, and they are willing to work hard to get it.

Unless you are one of the small percentage of people who strike it rich by winning the lottery, any worthy goal and successful venture will take a lot of work. Things don't often drop into your lap without some effort being put forth. Developing the right attitude by believing in yourself can go a long way to achieving success.

A Second Childhood

We are deviating from the topic we have been discussing since the week commenced. The change in topic is due to the fact that the opening of NYSC camps nationwide yesterday reminded me of a conversation I had with a friend few years back during my orientation programme in Jos, Plateau state. She had a terrible childhood whose memory had plagued her up till then. It was apparent those experiences were turning her to her own worst enemy.

Do you know that we can be our very own worst enemy? Yes, many of us treat ourselves the same vile way our early caretakers treated us. We put ourselves down, we are hard on ourselves and we are drawn to accepting bad treatment from others because we do not feel good about ourselves on the inside.

We may feel that we don't deserve anything good so we punish ourselves over and over and over again. We don't have to do anything external to anyone. We can punish ourselves in the privacy of our lives in ways that make us feel even worse about ourselves and in ways that we would never think of doing to anyone outside of ourselves.

Let's take a pause and really visualize what our lives would look like if we stopped believing and feeling the worse about ourselves. What if we were to get up today, look in the mirror and say to ourselves, "I forgive You and I love you and I will stop treating you the way others treated you when you were a child." You may not believe it at first, but continue doing it and soon you will feel that burden fall off your shoulders.

Start treating yourself to the things that made you feel good as a child. Take yourself back to your childhood. No, not to the abused childhood you had, but to a childhood that should have been filled with clean love, clean hugs, clean kisses and happiness. Eat lollipops, watch your favourite cartoons, read your favourite comic books, watch your favourite comedies. Do the things that make you feel happy, loved and appreciated.

Yes, give yourself a second childhood. Give yourself the loving kindness that you should have received as a child. Give yourself permission to be angry, even rageful. To break up the pain of abuse, you need to become angry over what was done to you. Be angry for that little girl or little boy who was abused and treated in such a dastardly manner. Repressed anger gives way to depression and other deep emotional and psychological pain.

Don't let others make slight of what you went through or try to tell you that that was the past and you need to forget it. Remove yourself from those dynamics while you are in the process of healing. In that light, you don't need to share what you are doing with others who may not understand what you are going through. You are taking charge of your own self-healing.

Don't go through your entire life with all that pain and unhappiness. Believe me it's not a good feeling. We all deserve to live a good, happy, exciting and exuberant life. After all, it is our birthright. So start today, give yourself the gift of love! Give yourself the gift of a second childhood! Selah.

Live It

Why are you not living your dreams? Is it because you have negative feelings about your past? The past is like a river. Have you ever seen a river flowing backwards? The past is not coming back and chances are, if it did, you would make the same choices because you would still be in the same place as you were then. Do you have negative feelings about the present?

If you don't like where you find yourself standing, ask yourself "why am I still here?" Perhaps you blame your current situation on someone else. Okay, I will give you this one.

Someone else very well may have hurt you, disappointed or failed you. It could very well be someone else's fault, but guess what? If someone else is in control of your life, it's still your fault! For whatever reason, you allowed them to take control! Placing blame is not profitable and is counter-productive.

It is time to take responsibility for your life and your choices! It is not too late and you can do this! You can always choose again! We must take responsibility for the current state of our lives, families, businesses and other important aspects of our lives. When we do this, we navigate towards maturity which will come in handy if we are ever going to live our dreams.

Like we said yesterday, you are the only one that can give life to your dreams. Your dream of a balanced life, happy family, successful business are all achievable if only you will get up and make efforts. Do not let fear hold you down. Les Brown said, "Many people are not living their dreams because they are too busy living their fears." Don't be a part of the negative statistics.

Our families, businesses and gifts are the fruit of our hands. When we nurture these, our true strength shines through and our dreams manifested! Your dreams are waiting to be realized. What are you waiting for?

Never Stop Dreaming

Dreams makes us alive. Dreams are the songs of your soul and without them; you will really have nothing to live for. Your life will be nothing but a dry routine. If you are not dreaming, you are practically dead. This is so simply because without passion and enthusiasm in your life, all you will be doing is waiting to die.

The secret to success in life is to simply pursue your dreams. There is no other way that you can claim that you are successful if you are not either living your dream-life or pursuing your dreams. This is so simply because it is only our dreams that can make us compete. Nothing else can, no matter how glamorous it seems.

Following your dreams is the key to success in whichever field you are in because when you follow them, you will be having the advantage of the momentum that comes with doing what you really love. This momentum will make it easy for you to work hard without necessarily feeling the burden of work. It will also give you a kind of enthusiasm that is usually very hard to fake. This enthusiasm will not only make life more enjoyable for you, but it will also help to inspire confidence in people who are supposed to help you to achieve your dreams.

Our dreams are what make us unique. This therefore means that if you abandon your dreams, you are abandoning your individuality. As a result what you will be doing is that you will be joining the masses of people who go through life as average pedestrians and who usually never amount to anything significant in life. The only way to make sure that your individuality, so far as life and nature is concerned, remains intact is to go after what you feel you want in life.

The key to success in life lies in realizing the truth about our wishes and dreams. It lies in recognizing the fact that dreams come true and that it is for that reason that nature usually makes us have them. Going after what your heart wants is thus one of the most effective secrets to success available to you as a human being. Take advantage of this success secret and enjoy success in life and in business.

Do not give up on your dreams because when you do, it means that you are dead. This is so because they are the only things that can make you stand out of the crowd.

Have a great week!

Forget Everyone,Believe In Yourself

Many people live scripted lives. They live up to the expectations of their close friends and family, but they rarely go any further than that. They live in the status quo and therefore, they remain average.

If you want to become extremely successful, if you want to be rich or famous, then you have to go above and beyond what others expect of you. Most parents are happy to see their children live an ordinary life. They want good things for their children, but they don't expect them to achieve greatness. That is why you must expect it of yourself, because no one else is going to push you to achieve it.

People will always try to tell you what is best for you. Usually it is along the lines of what is considered "safe" or "normal." However, if you allow other people to determine the actions you take, you will never reach your true potential. Your potential is indeed unlimited, but only if you find it within yourself and ignore what the outside world is telling you.

If you can begin to think outside the box, you will begin to see greater success. If you think big, you will do big things. Have you noticed that most of the population is living in mediocrity? Why is that? It is because they are "average" thinkers, so average is all they will ever be. In order to achieve the greatness that you are capable of, you have to see the greatness within yourself.

Start making an effort to think positive, uplifting thoughts. Doubt is the killer of all dreams. Believe in yourself and you will achieve everything you set out to achieve.

Eliminate the negativity from your life. You can't live a positive life in a negative environment. You can't be great when the people around you are trying to keep you average. Minimize the time you spend with negative people. Start finding groups of successful people to hang out with. Learn from those that are better than you. You will be motivated by them to achieve bigger and better things. If you continue to hang with the same people, you will likely stay the same. There comes a time when you must break free from that which ties you down so that you can achieve the greatness you were destined for.

It's time to change your life!

Pay The Price

We live in such a competitive world where it is bidders with the highest price that succeed. There is nothing for free anymore, the days of manna from above are long gone. We are literally living in the world of the "survival of the fittest." It is for those people who are willing to lose something in order to gain something. The universe is so fair that when you offer something it will give you another in return, this is called trade. You cannot expect to get anything when you give nothing.

How much are you willing to sacrifice to get what you want? This is the ultimate question because the more you are willing to pay the price the more your chances of getting what you want. I am not talking about the price for goods here but the greatest price you pay for your dreams. Dreams don't come cheap. No big dream ever just happens, great men and women defied the odds to achieve their dreams. You cannot change the world with small dreams; big and audacious dreams pave people's ways to the history books as world changers.

The truth is you must know what is worth your sacrifice; you don't want to waste yourself on useless endeavors that are not going to make any significance in the world or bring you any satisfaction. We have enough of those already and we don't need more from you as well. You must have that one big, bold and audacious dream that you can pour yourself all out into. It must entice you, appeal to you, intimately resonate with the innermost chambers of your soul and propel you into action. Otherwise, it is not going to stretch your imagination at all and it is not worth your sacrifice. Cut your losses and look for that one elusive world changer.

What made guys like Steve Jobs and Bill Gates drop out of college? The similarity in these guys is that all of a sudden they did not see the sacrifice of going to college worth their returns and they did not see college repaying them the way they would have liked. Something else emerged as urgent to them and they were big, audacious. I mean they were potential world changers at the time and we are the witnesses of the fact that they have indeed lived up to those potentials. And these are changing the landscape of technology and computers.Surely you know about Apple and Microsoft Corporation now. They knew what they wanted, sacrificed for it and needless to say they got it.

There are a lot of such great men and women who completely galvanized and transformed this world. They simply found something worth their price. You cannot continue doing something that is tasking you, stressing you out and bringing you nothing but frustrations. The sooner you realize it is not worth the price the sooner you would release your mind to birth those big dreams that are worth your price.

There is only one thing you are brought here to pay the price for and until you figure that out, you will always waste your efforts and energy on things that are not worth it. Until you have one thing that consumes all your potentials, you will always divert your potentials and get half-baked rewards in return. It is time to focus all your energy on one big audacious dream and you will realize the power of your efforts because power is simply energy/efforts directed into one thing.

I am reminded of some of the Master's protégés (John and James) who wanted to solicit for positions without paying the price. Their mother asked for them to sit at the side of Jesus in Heaven. The Master responded overwhelmingly, He said, "You don't know what you are asking," Jesus said to them. "Can you drink the cup I am going to drink?" The question was about the price, "Can you pay the price that I am going to pay?" Many are just after good positions but are not aware of the price attached to those good positions.

He knew the price that He was going to pay and He was ready to even die on the cross for His purpose. He found something big to die and pay the price for. It was worth all the sacrifice in the world. There has not been someone like Him who revolutionized the world the way He did. He died for what He believed in and that was to free humans. What are you prepared to die for?

We need your potential, we need the greatness in you, this world still lacks so many riches and some of them are only in you. You may not be aware yet but you are the change you want to see in this world.

Are you committed to the course of your dreams? Are you willing to back it up with the plan of action? You don't need to be great and all famous to start but you need to start to be great. You can start wherever you are, at whatever stage you are in.

As long as you can still dream, you have a shot at living your life in an amazing way and impacting the world in the only way you can. It's people who move from dreamland to action land that change the world. Please join their elite club, it's a winning team guaranteed! Fight for the dreams you are entrusted with, you are the only one who can give them life, don't die with them please.

Be obsessed with seeing your potential being realized and not contributing to the wealth of the cemetery. Within you is the greatest wealth that this world has yet to see.

Don't delay your dreams I am sure you have delayed for too long now, there is no time to waste anymore.

Have a fruitful month!

Patience And Success

Life takes very little skill really, but lots of effort, when you win. Some of the most skilled people are genuinely less than their potential because they sweat too much on the small details. The big picture put together is greater than the sum of its parts alone.

Another thing, patient effort is greater than quick "getting it done now", always. If it was not greater than quick getting it done now, then nothing would take effort, and winning would not be a bigger accomplishment to people than losing.

Some of the most skilled and genius people are losers because of intemperance and impatience with situations that would make them winners. The fact is, to become a winner takes not so much skill, but patience, temperance, and a capacity for realistic understanding of what it takes. Sure, that sounds simple, but the real skill of success consists of this. For without it, it does not matter how much "book and school knowledge" you have, you will not succeed. That subtle difference in viewpoint is what made Abraham Lincoln,a supposed failure revered

Think about that and think about that deeply. To be successful in all things, you must be successfully patient, understanding, full of temperance and tolerance from the very beginning or settle for genuine failure.

Also, success is more of imagination.Visualizing success and hard work lead to success ultimately. To a failure, success is one shot without practice attempts, it is unrealistic expectations that do not work. What makes a success is temporary "failure" rather than the "lucky break" first time "success"

The real nature of success is not the instant win, it is the "built up win". There is nothing more important than creating through effort, work and making the success repeatable rather than depending on luck at the first try.

Success is ours!

Take That Risk!

Ever sat there and thought 'I wish I had a go at that' or 'I wish I could try that'?

Do you have some great ideas and you get 50% down the path of implementing them. Then the alarm bells start to ring and the little voices in your head start to chatter: 'But can I really take the risk?'... 'What will I lose'?' Before you know it, you've lost your initial burst of enthusiasm, and you back off, returning to what you know is safe and comfortable.

There is nothing wrong with that. Being cautious is part of most people's make up. But you really don't want to go through life carrying a whole bunch of 'what-ifs' and a bucketful of regrets, do you? 'What if I had done that?' 'Do you know... I had thought of doing that, but didn't'.

It may seem a little risky when you work out how much a new idea is going to cost to put into action. Or you hit so many stumbling blocks that you think Someone upstairs is trying to tell you something. However, conquering those stumbling blocks is what separates the everyday people and achievers, and will give you a real sense of achievement. Remember: It is risky not to take risks.

So go on, take a leap, and take a few risks!

SAY YES

So many of us are sitting on the fence of so called safety and security literally robbing ourselves of the opportunities each and every day to live a more fulfilling life. Those individuals have become accustomed to saying no to living their dreams, however they are not consciously aware they are saying no to their dreams.

The reasons for these individuals not living their dreams are anyone's guess, as their disguises are too many to mention. However there is no doubt that if one is not living their dreams, they have in some way been sold on their fears; fear of not being good enough, fear of being rejected to a fear of dying and the list is endless.

If this is you, understand that if you have not said yes to your dreams you must ask yourself what have you said yes to through your actions or in actions.

Have you said yes to a life of average?

Have you thought my dream is not something I can actually go after?

Have you said yes to settling for a life less than what you really desire?

Have you said yes to lack because it feels like all you can have?

Have you said yes to being alone because you think you're un lovable? Or are you too frightened to be in a loving relationship because of the risk of being hurt?

Have you said yes to playing safe because living an adventurous life is dangerous and you could lose your life?

If you have said yes to these things you maybe saying no to living a fulfilling life. The reasons for sustaining those no's in your life is robbing you from a fulfilling life. Your safety will never be guaranteed by living a life less than you desire, the only thing you will guarantee is living a life full of regrets; repeating words like, I could have done that.

Someone shared with me a thought that his father always shared with him and I'll pass it on to you as the simplicity of this thought spoke volumes in the way of freeing one of fear. It goes... "A man that was born to hang, can't drown" and when I heard it I thought wow I love that thought. I'm sure this thought has been handed down for many years but I will attribute it to this my friend's father because he always says along with that thought, to just live your life. How liberating it is to just live our life, fearlessly believing that we are purposeful and that experiencing life in its fullness is all we need concern ourselves with even with all the mistakes. After all playing it safe doesn't eliminate the possibility of making mistakes; it eliminates the possibilities of having fulfilment.

If our lives are to be purposeful then all we need do is say yes to the purpose, say yes to a fulfilling life. Learn to say yes because saying yes allows us to release what we think we know to learn something new and that something new will expand who we are and enable us to learn more about ourselves.

Learn to say yes to your dreams, learn to say yes to purpose. Say yes to fulfilment.

There are many keys to success like, getting our mindset open for it, having persistence and being around people who are thinking like we think and having someone on your side whose only motive is to see you operate in your full potential. Whatever it takes,be deliberate in saying yes to the life you have always wanted to live. Say yes today and enjoy fulfilment. Have a great week!!!

The Butterfly Mentality

Recently, I stumbled on a book about the transformation of the butterrflies. It was very inspirational and really got me thinking. The stages a caterpillar goes through to become a butterfly can be perfectly applied to our lives to become whatever we have chosen to be.

Maya Angelou, a renowned writer, stated that "we delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty." Life is no different. Many times, people only see the successes in others. What they don't realize is the amount of hard work, dedication, persistence, and transformation required to become successful

With the butterfly mentality, anyone can master the art of successful living. Change is the only constant in life. Regardless if you're a human or butterfly, every living organism evolves. Rather than fight it, the key is to accept those changes and move on. If you're currently in a bad situation in life, you must realize that it's bound to change so there's no need to be stressed about it - just keep working steadily to resolve those concerns and have faith that tomorrow is a better day.

Please note that those who are successful must also be cautious about this fact. Instead of relying on their past successes, people must continually change and adapt to remain competitive and successful.

One of the best methods for accepting change is to realize that nothing is permanent. Not only are your failures impermanent but also your successes. Whether you accept it, or not, everything has an expiration date. This also includes humans, animals, insects, flowers, furniture, political regimes, and even business entities. The goal is to detach yourself from any emotional baggage, addiction, obsession, or fixation. Once this is done, you'll realize that accepting change is much easier and you'll be more efficient at transforming to become the best person possible.

Like the butterfly, people also progress through 3 main stages in life: birth; death; resurrection. Of course, no one is physically immortal. The death that I'm referring to pertains to the failures in life that's not only unavoidable but also catastrophic to the point where some have either given up or even taken their own lives. In essence, everyone will fail at something in the course of their lifetime.

The key is to resurrect from those failures, learn from them, and use the knowledge and experienced gained to improve personally and professionally.

Bruce Lee wisely stated that "the key to immortality is first living a life worth remembering." Many of us would love an opportunity to live forever. Unfortunately, no one is physically immortal. Instead, many legends, role models, and icons live through their words of wisdom long after they're gone from our physical world. Similar to Bruce Lee, who's still helping millions of people globally with his words of wisdom that's applicable to life, business, and success, people could also work towards immortality by helping others, thus being remembered for making a positive difference in our world.

Whether large or small, people must also learn to celebrate their achievements in life. Doing so would provide you with the additional motivation needed to continually pursue your dreams and passion in life. Remember, failure to reward yourself occasionally may result in a loss of enthusiasm that could be detrimental to achieving your goals and objectives.

One of the best part of life pertains to freedom. You should have the freedom to choose your own destiny in life. You could decide to open your own business, work for someone else, or volunteer and donate your resources through charitable contributions, etc. Like the magnificent butterflies celebrating their freedom through the flitting pollination of flowers, people also have an opportunity to pursue their own path in life.

In the end, success is a state-of-mind and directly proportional to love and happiness. The more loved and happy you are, the more successful you feel. Therefore to be happy:

(A) Follow your passion(s) and do what you love.
(B) Have gratitude, enjoy every moment, and live in abundance.
(C) Do your best to learn, grow, and help others.

Even if you don't have much, you could drastically increase the amount of love and happiness in your life if you follow the suggestions mentioned above.

LIVING IN THE NOW

Are you here? I mean are you really present and living in the moment? Or is your life being re-lived out of the past or in expectation of the future? Do you live in the moment?

Now I am not talking here about the 'in the moment' activity of goal setting or planning, which is a conscious action made in current time to set a destination or a path. In this act, you are fully present much like the master of a ship who is determining his next port or destination. Then once determined you set off on your journey, ever present and experiencing each moment as it comes: This is a somewhat different experience to that of living in the past or future, instead of being fully present and alive NOW.

This shift to living other than in the present is not conducive to experiencing the best life has to offer. In fact it shortens and robs us of the fibre of our being and this activity should not be mistaken for the productive and valuable process of evaluating life's events for its lessons and evaluations which can be used to help us on our way.

So I guess my message is that outside of a healthful analysis of our past and an optimistic evaluation and plan for our future, our time and our life is for living now.

I read somewhere that,"in the past you hear the words your future calls for you to be happy, so be happy now." I still haven't fully mastered the attitude, but I give it my best shot. Like most things in life, our being happy is primarily a decision-made and kept.

Living in the "NOW" is the most intelligent decison we can ever take. No matter how alluring or otherwise our pasts are, they should not dictate how we live in the present. The future would be fashioned out by the way we live now, hence the need to live fully in the present.

THE CUSTOM-MADE LIFE

Life comes once to everybody We're all in the middle of a one-time event. We get one shot to do it right. When it's over, it's over. No rehearsals, no retakes.
Why, then, do we so casually give our lives away?
How do we do that? We give our life away by living it according to somebody else's plan.
Perhaps a parent. Friend. Teacher. It could be just about anybody.

Rather than maximizing our unique set of talents, personality and intelligence, we allow the opinions of others to tell us who and what we are. Usually to our detriment since somebody else's view of life fits them, not us.

The user's manual, the Bible, explains the deal. We're each custom-created by God with the talents, personality and intelligence to do what God put us on earth to do. Our job is to determine what gifts God gave us and then use them to achieve our purpose.

So, let's think about this. If we're each custom-made, then we're each unique. Some are '"uniquer" than others, you may have noticed, but nobody's supposed to be a clone. Or even a copy. God's about the custom-made, not clones or second-best copies.

If God intends for us to be unique, then trying to make us look, think or act like somebody else is wrong. Sure, we may look a lot like Mom, have characteristics inherited from Dad and even share some opinions with others, but put all those pieces together, and they spell "unique."

Those who try to direct us down the wrong path may have innocent intentions. They may even think their efforts are admirable. Perhaps it's their misguided effort to help. Or it may simply be an unthinking attempt to relive their lives through us.

Or their intentions can be callous. They spot advantage in manipulating us to fit their purposes. Selfish people don't give a hoot about any collateral damage we suffer.

We all know how it goes. Parents insist their children, however unsuited or unwilling, follow in their footsteps. "Friends" prefer we serve their desires and plans rather than move toward our own "If you were really a friend, you would . . . " or "if you really loved me, you would . . . "
This is not unfamiliar territory.

Here's what we can take to the bank: If the plans of others contradict what God put in us, they are the wrong size and wrong style. They may be right for somebody else, but they don't fit us. It's the old square-peg-in-a-round-hole theory If we go along, we'll end up regretting that we didn't live life differently.

So, what to do? The simple-to-say, hard-to-do answer is to quit marching to the beat of somebody else's drummer.

Isn't it a little late to change? Well, it's either now, later or never. Later will be harder. Never is unthinkable.

As the saying goes, seize the day. Whatever our age, we can change. Yes, younger is easier, but as long as we're breathing, there's hope.

Most days we'll only change a little, but if we persevere, the changes will become apparent-and finally, astonishing.

EXCLUSIVE : ONE ON ONE WITH NIGERIA'S YOUNGEST PILOT

We return to the subject "passion.". We can't seem to exhaust that weighty topic. Men and women passionate about a cause or endeavour will do anything to achieve their goals. We won't be dwelling on that topic but on a man who has found his passion and he is already taking steps to get to the peak.

The Nigerian aviation industry has been plagued with series of air-mishaps with the latest one still fresh in our memories. Despite this, a young man has found his 'love' within that industry and he is putting expression to it.

The name Kidaffa Umaru Maina might not ring a bell in your ears but it is already causing positive waves within the aviation cycle. At 19, Kidaffa is Nigeria's youngest pilot. An indigene of Borno state,Kidaffa is the first in a family of 3 children. He attended Carebears Nursery/Primary School Maiduguri, Borno state for his primary education and proceeded to King's College Lagos for high school. He graduated from King's College in 2011 and enrolled in Aptrac Aviation,Port Elizabeth,South Africa that same year.

He started his course in October and obtained his first solo on the 29th February 2012..He got his Private pilot licence on 2 May 2012 at the age of 17 and continued for his commercial licence. He finished all his commercial ground school exams in November 2012 and continued with the flying program. He passed his oral exam and flight test on 18 September 2013 making it 10days to his 19th birthday..

Talking about his choice of career,he said,"Flying has always been my dream since I was much younger in
primary school.". He acknowledges divine and parental supports." My parents have been my great source of encouragement and also God has been so faithful to me..".

However this is not to say he has had it rosy all through. He had to overcome financial challenges initially and the age factor reared its head. "One of my challenges was funding. My parents suffered a lot to raise the money for my fees.Secondly my age.........most of my coursemates were like 10years older than me and we had to face the same task."

He is currently licenced on a multi engine aircraft with instruments rating and hopes to be a Captain on a Boeing 787. He is currently in Nigeria processing his licence conversion after which he will be eligible to fly the Nigerian airspace.
One striking feature about Kidaffa is his humility. His calm disposition is also notable. He has a word for Nigerian youths. "My advice to young Nigerians out there is hold on to your dreams, pray hard and open your heart to God. With hard work and determination, the sky is just the starting point"....

SUCCESS:THE EXPERTS ADVICE

:

Success is one of the most covered subjects in the world. You will find many articles and books about how to be successful. If you do a complete research about success, you will find that success has a pattern. Success has its own laws, and these laws exist whether we know it or not. Therefore, if we want to achieve success for any area of our life, we simply need to know and apply these laws.

Laws of success exist like the law of Gravity: even if we don't realize them, they work on us like Gravity.

Many researchers and authors spent years and years studying the nature & laws of success. For example, Napoleon Hill spent 20 years studying successful people in America until he finally developed his concept of these laws. He interviewed over 100 American millionaires across nearly 20 years, including industrial giants as Henry Ford, J. P. Morgan, John D. Rockefeller, Alexander Graham Bell, and Thomas Edison. In his book The Law of Success, , he found out that these laws are universal in the sense they are everywhere for everyone at any time. According to Napoleon Hill: "What the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve." His most famous work, Think and Grow Rich (1937), is one of the best-selling books of all time (at the time of Hill's death in 1970, Think and Grow Rich had sold 20 million copies).

Tony Robbins had interviewed many successful persons in many different countries. According to him " If you want to be successful, find someone who has achieved the results you want and copy what they do and you'll achieve the same results." .

Brian Tracy talks in detail about the laws of success such as the law of attraction, law of expectation... etc.

Stephen Covey in his bestseller: The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People demonstrates that successful persons follow a pattern to reach success, and this pattern is summarized in 7 habits.

What is common among those top experts in the field of success & human development is that all of them see a pattern or "common laws" for success.

These laws are mental / emotional. Often, they are called "the Laws of the Mind". They are like positive thinking but with more focus and more direction. If you know them well and follow them, you will program your mind to apply them automatically. This means you will apply them with relative ease, with natural continuity, and without struggle. In a way they will be part of your personality. You will begin to see opportunities rather than challenges, even within any challenge. You will take a positive look towards life. Your focus is on the solution rather than on the difficulty. Once you begin to develop this pattern of thinking, you will begin to attract success in your life. You will also attract successful persons in your life. You will attract positive energy in your body.

Your mental/emotional attitude is the basis of these laws. Once your mental thinking has become directed towards your goals, and once you direct it only positively, you will begin to expect the positive. Once you expect it, it will be much easier to achieve it.

Success starts with a thought. Henry Ford said: "If you think you can do a thing or think you can't do a thing, you're right." This does not mean that simply by thinking positively you will not have any problem in your life. It doesn't also mean that if we have any challenge it is because we expected it or attracted it in our life. No, it simply means that the power of positive thinking, the power of your mind and the ability to use your mental thoughts/images will provide you with tremendous energy that helps you towards achieving that specific goal.

If you guide your thoughts towards success, the outcome will follow. Napoleon Hill calls it the master mind. Others see it as the law of attraction. Your thought attracts success. According to Deepak Chopra "Every thought you are thinking creates a wave in the unified field. It ripples through all the layers of intellect, mind, senses, and matter, spreading out in wider and wider circles. You are like a light radiating not photons but consciousness." Hmmmn!

This view is based on ""like attracts like". It starts with a thought that you create in your conscious mind. On average, you receive 60,000 thoughts every day.

Focus on what you want, rather than on what you don't want. As Norman Vincent Peale said:" Change your thoughts and you change your world."

Your thoughts are your imagination. Albert Einstein said, "Your imagination is your preview of life's coming attractions." Hill believes that imagination is the key to mastering all of the other lessons of his book: Law of Success. This is one of the reasons why visualization techniques are so powerful, as they are based on your imagination.

Your thoughts must be positively connected with your expectations. You have to expect the best: best of you, best of people & best of life. Many experts talk about the law of expectation as something inherent in success. When one expects with confidence that good things will happen, they usually will.

Our expectations are linked to our existing beliefs. According to Earl Nightingale"Our environment, the world in which we live and work, is a mirror of our attitudes and expectations".

All of our actions are the fruit of our ideas: before we act on anything we must first have had an idea. An idea is a thought or a group of thoughts that ultimately determine the conditions of our daily lives.

The order of success is like this: you start with a thought; this thought will lead to energy, energy will in turn lead to an action, and ultimately action will lead to success. This is why it is essential to have the right thought from the start.

Remember that energy follows thought: we move toward, but not beyond, what we can imagine. Success requires gradual steps. There are steps that you can take towards your success. Think of success as the stairs. The elevator to success is out-of-order. You'll have to use the stairs... one step at a time.

Finally, remember that Success is achievable, and this is within your potential. Have a great week people!

CLAIM YOUR GREATNESS

We are still on the same "talent and passion" topic. Everyone has got one talent and passion or the other which are necessary for success in life. However, some people make one terrible mistake by comparing themselves with others. This comparison robs people of greatness. Do you find yourself saying things like:

"She always seem to have it all together, what's the matter with me?"

"He gets all the attention, why I can't I?"

Have you ever said any of the above, or something that close? We all do, at some point or another. Even the image above is that of an orange wishing it were an apple. We should stop these comparisons. Oscar Wilde said, "Be yourself, everyone else is taken".

While reading an article recently, it brought back memories of a poem I read few years ago. One particular line says, "If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself." Isn't that the truth? When we begin to compare ourselves to others, it makes us feel less about ourselves. Shouldn't we be spending time valuing our uniqueness? Meredith Fineman said, "In order to succeed, you have to be the best you."

It is a mistake to compare yourself to others. Why? Because you really don't know what's happening in the other person's life. All that portrayal of having it all together could be a farce. He or she could be 'faking it until they make it'. The article suggests that, "... when we compare ourselves to others, whether it be a marriage, a career, or a specific achievement, we are only comparing ourselves to our perception of this person." That's right. We are making comparisons against things we don't know or don't have enough information about. So, don't envy anyone. Instead, look inwards and be grateful for who you are and what you have.

During the coming weekend, instead of comparing yourself to others, reflect on these words from the poem: "Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time."

Here's my personal message to you today: Opportunities are lost on those who spend time comparing themselves to others. Quit doing so, embrace your uniqueness, and get ready to play it big and win! Claim your greatness today by stop comparing yourself with others!

NB. We pray for the eternal rest of those who lost their lives in yesterday's plane crash and also pray that the Almighty gives their faimilies fortitude to bear the losses.

DISCOVERING YOUR PASSION

We have been talking about trading with our talents and locating our passion. The question therefore is, "how do you trade what you have not discovered?"Nelson Mandela once said "There is no passion to be found in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living."

If you love what you do, you'll never have to work a day in your life. But where to start? If you have no idea what you are really passionate about, here are 5 tips in discovering your passion.

1. What Did You Want To Be When You Grew Up?

Cast your mind back to your childhood and tap back into the innocence and simplicity of doing something just for fun. The things you enjoyed before you become ingrained in the day-to-day responsibilities of being an adult. These are signs of your true personality.

2. What Would You Do Without Getting Paid?

What would you do simply for the sake of your own happiness? Sometimes you consider a job purely as a way to make money, but if you are following your passion, money will naturally follow once you have put in the hard work and sacrifice. A good way is to start doing something you enjoy even if you haven't figured out a way to monetize it. Test what it's like to work in an area you're passionate about. This way it will shift your idea out of your head and into reality. It will take you out of paralysis and fear mode to a place of joy which will then fuel your passion.

3. What Are You Interested In?

Finding your passion can be as simple as examining what is on your bedside table. What books or magazines are you reading? What blogs have you subscribed to? Are there any particular topics you gravitate towards? What is the thing that grabs your interest the minute you hear or see something relating to it? What is it that sets you on fire inside that makes you feel alive? What is the thing you can't wait to do again? You will know it's a passion when you find yourself spending your money, time and energy on things related to that particular topic.

4. What Makes You Feel Good?

What do you do that people notice or compliment you for having done? What do people thank you for? What are some ways people see that you contribute? What do people routinely ask for your help with? Most people's passions and talents help others in one way or another. All these things boil down to you feeling good about your own value.

5. Don't Stop Learning

Be a student of the world and consume information of all kinds whenever you can. Read up on people you admire or topics you have an interest in. When your mind is open to broader possibilities, your clarity of focus can be increased.

If you catch yourself working hard and loving every minute of it, don't stop. You're on to something big. Because hard work isn't hard when you concentrate on your passions. If you want to find your passion, it starts with trying.

TRADING WITH YOUR TALENT 2

Yesterday we began a topic on how to trade with our talents profitably. We highlighted some key factors that would come in handy when trading. Peradventure you were not priviledged to read the first part of this series, please check it here: (http://weinspireng.blogspot.co.uk/2013/10/trading-with-your-talent.html?m=1).

This is the concluding part of the series. Enjoy!

1) Courage

Courage is the ability to encounter problem, distress, disappointment, challenge, difficulty, uncertainty, danger from what you are doing without changing course. Courageous people are warriors. David as a sheep tender faced many attacks in the wilderness, he was seen as an outcast by his immediate family yet he held on what he was configured to do. According to Eddie Rickenbacker "courage is doing what you are afraid to do. There can be no courage unless you're scared"

2) Maturity

To be of age is not to be aged; it is not in the number of years (age). It talks about maturity. David was a teen when he got this appointment. Maturity here has nothing to do with what nature has done to you(natural growth), rather what you have done to yourself to become a better person. Your maturity will determine the way you relate with people and how well you can work in or lead a team. The length of our days on earth is not the indicator of maturity(being of age). Patience and stability which are necessary tools for successful 'trading' are products of maturity.

3) Good Communication Skills

David Jesse had a way with words. He spoke well. We must learn to speak well too. This is what we call communication skill in this age.We need to improve on our communication skills, if it is not important it won't be an item on our resumes.

4) Good Appearance

David was attractive. He paid attention on his appearance and we should emulate that as well. Our appearances determine our acceptability. It is on record that Joseph, the first Prime Minister of Egypt shaved himself and changed his clothes before appearing in the presence of Pharaoh to display his gift. People are moved first by the outward appearance.

5) Divine Presence

This perhaps is the most important factor. It crowns the previously-mentioned factors with outstanding success. The presence of the Most High God is the single determinant that swings success our way. We must therefore do whatever we can to get His abiding presence. Think about these!

Have a blessed day!!!
